Enhancement Teams

We have over 40 churches that come to Peru 3-5 times a year. Once a church is planted, this frequency works very well for discipleship, but can make it hard at times to get a work going.

We've added what we call Enhancement teams to help overcome the issue. They are teams of 3 people that are sent out to spend of month in any particular village helping the REAPartner church ack in the US by evangelizing and discipling among their adopted people group. We expect great things from this thrust.

Here's a picture of our Enhancement team members during our two week training seminar these past weeks. Pray for them as they set out for the mountains following our week end prayer retreat.

Strategy Coordinator Training

Team leaders in the IMB or called Strategy Coordinators. What it means is that an SC develops his own prayed-over, Holy Spirit led strategy to reach the people group with whom he works. Our strategy is to plant churches using the local church in the US as partners in more than 40 areas in Peru, thus our team and strategy name: REAP (rapid entry and advance plan).

I got to the point this year where it was time to learn how to do this for my own future team and strategy in a two part training conference. The first part was here in Lima last October. The second part was last week in Quito, Ecuador.

The funny part about it is although I am have the SC training, the title and position is fading away in a restructuring process by the IMB that is aimed at reducing administrative responsibilities for field workers. The training was valuable. The things I learn will help me reach my people group, with or without the SC title being around. Above is a picture of one of our leader in South America and a good friend of mine whose house I stayed at in Quito.

For those of you who like cheese, here's a picture of me at the Equator...and yes there is a painted line, but no, it doesn't continue all the way around the world!
